About
Originally started on a home laser printer, Knitcircus ran as a glossy print magazine for eight issues. The magazine went online with Issue #9, Spring 2010 issue and has never looked back. Knitcircus is an independent knitting magazine; we have fun providing appealing, knittable patterns for your whole family. Dedicated multicrafters, we figure you are, too and offer recipes and crochet projects with every issue.
Our designers and customers mean a lot to us, so we create Pattern Collections for a limited time (designers get the rights back) and a reasonable price (customers get a bargain). Designers choose to participate in our online pattern store, so you can browse there for individual patterns from past issues. Everyone can read the magazine for free, and we donate to Heifer International and KIVA.org with every issue.
Check out the magazine for interviews with exciting designers and yarnmakers, the Kids Knitting and Yarnside Chats video series, techniques with Wendy Johnson, the view from an LYS with the Yarn Stylist and Choose It and Use It yarn series.
We'd love to meet you in person; if you find yourself in the midwest, please join us for the Spring and Fall Knitcircus Retreats; tune in every couple of weeks for some yarn-related giggling on the Knitcircus Podcast, and join the fun with the Ravelry Knitcircus Group and Knitcircus Blog.
Welcome to the Circus; open up your parasol, and let’s fly!
